A sewage backup isn't a job for a mop and bucket. Our Sewage Cleanup crews arrive in full PPE, classify the contamination, and follow IICRC S500 blackwater protocols from the first step.

The decision to remove a material rather than dry it in place isn't a cost-cutting call on a sewage job — it's a safety standard, since porous materials that contact blackwater can't be fully sanitized no matter how long you dry them.
None of this is unique to a big loss either — the same standard applies whether it's a single-room sewage cleanup call or a larger one.
We built this list around what typically goes wrong when sewage cleanup gets handled by a generalist rather than a specialist.
Ask for credentials before the work starts, not after — a legitimate sewage cleanup specialist will have them ready.
Every sewage job follows documented contamination standards, not an improvised cleanup approach.
We isolate the affected zone before starting any removal to limit cross-contamination.
Contaminated materials get disposed of according to local regulations, not just tossed in a regular dumpster.
We treat contamination calls with urgency, since delay increases exposure risk.
Every piece of sewage cleanup work below follows the same documentation standard, whether it's a small job or a larger one.
Water gets classified as Category 3 blackwater on arrival, which sets the entire response protocol.
We extract with full PPE and controlled disposal of extracted contaminated water.
Porous materials can't be fully sanitized after blackwater contact, which is a safety call, not a cost-cutting one.
Disinfection follows removal of unsalvageable materials, covering every remaining surface in the affected zone.
Sewage odor gets treated at the source through disinfection and controlled airflow, not masked with fragrance.
We verify the space meets a safe standard before calling the job complete.
Four steps, no guesswork, from your first call to a verified sewage cleanup result.
A real person answers, asks a few fast questions, and routes the nearest available crew.
Crews staged locally get to your address quickly, equipment already loaded for Sewage Cleanup work.
The assessment sets the whole plan, so we don't rush it even when the visible damage looks minor.
Work continues until the job meets our documented completion standard, verified before we call it done.
"They didn't rush the disinfection step even though it clearly slowed the job down."
Andre P., Somonauk"A main line backup hit our laundry room and they explained exactly why the flooring had to go."
Naomi F., Somonauk"The odor was completely gone after their disinfection process, not just covered up."
Katrina L., Somonauk"They kept our family away from the affected zone until it was actually safe again."
Preston G., Somonauk"A rental property backup happened while our tenant was away and they coordinated everything with us remotely."
Victor N., Somonauk"A backup in our restaurant kitchen got same-day response given the health code concerns, and they understood the urgency immediately."
Grace T., SomonaukThese are the questions we hear most often about sewage cleanup, gathered from real calls, not a generic template list.
Our sewage cleanup coverage spans 60548 60552, with trucks positioned to reach any address in the service area quickly.
Coverage extends past the immediate area, so an outlying Somonauk address isn't treated as a lower priority for sewage cleanup.
